READCORD DISCOVERY

Privacy policy

Effective Date: November 2, 2026

This policy applies to the Readcord Discovery website, operated by Santol Studios LLC, based in Nevada, United States (“Readcord,” “we,” or “us”). Contact us at admin@readcord.com with privacy questions.

Information we handle

  • Account information: your email address, account identifier, account creation time, optional display name, the sign-in methods connected to your account, and your adult declaration and Terms acknowledgement (including document versions and acceptance time).
  • Sign-in information: password authentication records or information provided by Google or Apple when you choose their sign-in option. These providers may supply your name, email address, profile image, provider identifier, and verification information. Apple may supply a private relay address. We request basic sign-in information, not access to your email inbox or contacts.
  • Saved activity: the books you like and when you like them, so we can show your Liked Books. These likes are associated with your account and are not displayed as public reviews or endorsements.
  • Technical information: our hosting and service providers process information such as IP addresses, browser/device information, request URLs, timestamps, and delivery or security logs when operating the website and sending account emails. Search words and filters may appear in request URLs and technical logs. Please do not enter sensitive personal information in a search.
  • Support information: information you choose to send when contacting us.

Passwords are processed by our authentication service using password hashes. We cannot retrieve your existing password from those stored authentication records, and we do not send passwords in account emails. Temporary sign-in and verification tokens support authentication, recovery, and disconnecting Apple authorization when deleting an Apple-connected account.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, remember your liked books, provide search and discovery, deliver verification and recovery emails, respond to support requests, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, and meet legal obligations.

Creating an account does not subscribe you to a newsletter. We currently do not run a separate marketing mailing list, advertising pixels, or a separate analytics integration. We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Who processes information

We use service providers to operate Readcord: Supabase for authentication and database/storage services, Vercel for website hosting and delivery, and Resend for account email delivery. They process the information needed to provide those services. Google and Apple process sign-in information when you choose them; their own privacy notices also apply.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect people or our service, or handle a business transfer with appropriate protections. We do not give publishers, authors, or brands your individual liked-book list for marketing.

Cookies and browser storage

We use first-party cookies for sign-in sessions, email-link flows, pending sign-in actions, recovery, and temporary identity verification. Browser storage remembers your color-theme preference and, in internal development views, display preferences. These features are not advertising cookies.

You can clear cookies or browser storage through your browser settings. Blocking required cookies can prevent sign-in and other account features from working. Google, Apple, and external websites may use their own cookies when you visit them.

Keeping and deleting information

We keep account information and liked books while your account is active to provide those features. You can remove individual likes, change your display name, or permanently delete your account in Account details. We verify your identity before deletion.

Deleting your account removes the account and its liked books from our active application records. Copies may remain for a limited period in service-provider backups or logs, and records may be retained when needed for security, legal obligations, or resolving disputes. Deletion does not remove independent records held by Google or Apple, or delete your Google or Apple account. Apple sign-in authorization is revoked as part of our Apple-connected account deletion flow.

Our current managed database backup plan retains seven days of daily backups. Those backups may contain account information deleted from the active database until the backups expire. Our email-delivery provider, Resend, retains email and delivery-log data for 30 days under its standard plan, with a separate seven-day backup period. Deleting a Readcord account does not immediately erase those provider records. Vercel runtime logs are retained for 30 days under our current hosting configuration. Our Supabase dashboard currently provides a seven-day service-log window. We have not configured external log drains for either provider. These periods describe those specific records, not every operational or security record held by a provider.

We delete routine support correspondence within 12 months after the request is resolved. We may retain relevant records longer when needed for an unresolved dispute, a security issue, or a legal requirement.

Your choices and requests

You may browse without an account. Use Account details to update your display name or email, recover your password, or delete your account. For access, correction, deletion, or other applicable privacy-rights requests, email admin@readcord.com. We may ask you to verify ownership before acting. Please do not email passwords or sign-in codes. Applicable rights and exceptions depend on where you live.

Age requirements

Readcord Discovery is designed for adults choosing books for children. You must be at least 18 years old to create or manage an account. Browsing does not require an account. We do not currently offer child accounts or child profiles, and we do not ask for children’s names or birth dates. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact admin@readcord.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Security and international processing

We use access controls, encrypted connections, and service-provider security features to help protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed outside your state or country by us and our providers, subject to applicable requirements.

External websites and changes

Book, shop, borrowing, author, and publisher links may take you to independent websites with their own practices. Review their privacy notices before providing information.

We will update this policy when our practices change. Where required, we will provide notice and obtain consent.
