Terms of service

These terms govern use of the Readcord Discovery website provided by Santol Studios LLC, based in Nevada, United States (“Readcord,” “we,” or “us”). Contact admin@readcord.com with questions.

Who Readcord is for

Readcord Discovery helps adults find children’s picture books. To create or manage an account, you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into an agreement. You may browse the catalog without creating an account. Accounts are for the adult using the service; we do not currently offer child accounts or child profiles.

Free service

The Readcord Discovery website and its primary book-discovery service are free. Account activity and liked-book lists are private.

Readcord is intended to be available internationally. The website and current catalog are primarily in English, and translated interfaces are not currently provided. Book availability and third-party services may vary by location.

Your account

Provide accurate account information, use an email address you control, protect your sign-in methods, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account.

You can sign in through the methods available on the site. Matching verified email addresses may link supported sign-in methods to the same account. Different addresses, including an Apple private relay address, can create separate accounts with separate liked books. We do not currently provide manual account merging.

Using the service

You may use Readcord for lawful book discovery and the account features we make available. Do not impersonate another person or organization, use abusive or misleading display names, attempt to access another person’s account or private data, bypass security controls, disrupt the service, or use automated activity that harms the service. Do not upload or submit content that infringes another person’s rights.

Display names are optional. We may reject or require changes to names that are abusive, misleading, or impersonate Readcord, a publisher, an author, or another person. A display name alone does not establish a verified affiliation.

Book information and recommendations

Catalog descriptions, credits, age guidance, availability, and links can change or contain errors. Recommendations and age ranges are general guidance. Adults should consider the child and review a book themselves when suitability matters. We do not guarantee that a book will suit a particular child or situation.

Liking a book saves it to your account. It does not purchase or borrow the book, confirm that you own or have read it, or submit a public review.

Content and external services

Readcord’s site design and original content belong to Santol Studios LLC or its licensors. Book covers, previews, titles, artwork, and creator/publisher materials remain subject to their owners’ rights. Viewing a preview does not grant permission to reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit that material.

External shops, libraries, publishers, and sign-in providers operate independently. Their own terms and policies apply when you use their services. Readcord does not process book purchases or guarantee third-party prices, inventory, lending availability, or performance.

Privacy and communications

Our Privacy policy describes how we handle information. We send emails needed for account verification, security, recovery, and requested account changes. Creating an account does not enroll you in a newsletter.

Account deletion and access restrictions

You may stop using Readcord at any time and delete your account through Account details, after identity verification. Account deletion is permanent and removes your account and liked books from active application records, subject to the retention exceptions explained in the Privacy policy. Signing in again after deletion can create a new account; it does not restore the old account.

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks, legal requirements, or violations of these terms. Contact us if you believe a restriction is mistaken.

Service availability and responsibility

We work to keep Readcord useful and reliable, but availability and features may change. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation or suitability for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits liability where doing so is prohibited by applicable law.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will identify the effective date and provide additional notice when required.
